Extradition:
A legal process whereby an alleged criminal offender is surrendered by the officials of the state in which the crime is alleged to have been committed.
EXAMPLES Past and Present:
Past - Gary McKinnon, extradited to the US in 2002 for hacking NASA computers. He is still fighting it.
Present - Julian Assange (Wikileaks founder) could be extradited to several nations for publishing national secrets, he is taking asylum in an Ecuador Embassy in London.

PRIVILEGES and Immunities:
A clause in the Constitution saying that citizens of all the states are given most of the same privileges and immunities of other states while residing in them.
EXAMPLES Past and Present:
Past - In 1999 the Supreme Court ruled that California could not make citizens of other states wait for a year to receive welfare benefits that exceeded those from the state that they came from. (See Supreme Court Case Saenz v. Roe)
Present - We as North Carolina citizens are entitled to in-state tuition at our universities while out of state citizens have to pay out of state tuition but will receive the same police protection as we do.
